Why It’s So Important to Support Local Music
Highlighting local music at an event is a great way to get involved in the community and get the town excited about an event coming to their area! That’s why promoting local acts alongside National headliners at the Taste of Fort Collins has been a goal of Team Player Productions year after year, and an exciting draw to patrons, both in and around the area.
Why is it so important though?
All musicians have to begin somewhere, as nobody starts on an international platform. Immersing yourself solely in MTV really doesn’t allow you to catch exciting new music… but when you support local talent as Examiner.com touches on, you’re helping to foster something fresh and vibrant, whilst keeping the voice of your community alive.
Over the past few years, even the Denver Post recognizes that the local music scene in Fort Collins has raised the bar to become one of the hot spots for artists, sending a large number of bands to South by Southwest in Austin to highlight Colorado’s musical talent.
The lineup for the 2013 Taste of Fort Collins showcases a wide variety of sound and local talent, with big local names such as Fierce Bad Rabbit who’s based out of Fort Collins and recently put out a new album that’s getting great reviews in the music scene, to Bop Skizzum who’s based out of Denver and is blowing up the concert venues in the city.
So grab your festival gear and keep local music alive! With its eclectic line-up, Taste of Fort Collins promises to be a great event that celebrates what live music in Fort Collins really has to offer. See you in June! By VIP or weekend passes here.
