Meet the Wine-O: Sean Razee
Some people have an innate passion for food and wine, and at this year’s Steamboat Wine Festival there will be a panel of these experts who will share their wealth of knowledge that has been developed overtime with a combination of passion and education.
Coloradoan, Sean Razee, is one of those experts and a Master Sommelier. That’s quite an achievement considering there are only a total of 135 Master Sommeliers in North America who have been honored with this international title.
Sean Razee worked his way up to this prestigious title by first studying food science during undergraduate, and then attending a graduate program in wine making. He also holds a diploma with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (AIWS). His natural talent for developing award-winning wine and spirits programs caught the eye of some of the top institutions such as The Ritz-Carlton, Spago and Vail Resorts.
Even though Sean Razee holds some of the industry’s most prestigious academic awards and oversees the state’s top beverage programs, he believes in a down-to-earth approach to food and wine. Razee firmly stands by the ideaology that formality and rigid traditions should be removed from wine, and the focus should be about the enjoyment of flavors.
Like a true Coloradoan, Razee enjoys wine-adventure travels such as biking through California wine country and hiking through Tuscan vineyards. And that is something we are all about at this year’s Steamboat Wine Festival – the wine-adventure. Whether it’s the Hike Green, Drink Green, or Savor the Single Track event, there are plenty of opportunities to incorporate wine with outdoor beauty. All of which Sean Razee approves and is why you will find him at Steamboat Wine Festival 2015.
