Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods (CHUN) and Team Player Productions are excited to announce the production of the Capitol Hill People’s Fair will be managed by Team Player Productions.
After 45 years of community tradition and the challenges of producing an annual event on this scale the CHUN board decided to opt out of producing the People’s Fair in 2017. With a bold vision for the event’s future, Team Player Productions has agreed to take on the cost of production and has hired long-time CHUN Assistant Director Andrea Furness to join the TPP family. CHUN will remain the charitable beneficiary of the event.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this long standing tradition in Denver”, states Jason Ornstein, President of Team Player Productions. “The People’s Fair is one of the first large scale festivals created in Denver and it represents the diversity that makes Denver such a vibrant community. We did not want to see the People’s Fair leave the Denver landscape and only want to further this great community festival and build upon the terrific work that CHUN has created.”
“CHUN feels very fortunate to have found an excellent partner in Team Player Productions. We hold an extremely high level of confidence in their portfolio of many successful events and festivals both here in Colorado and across the country. After 45 years of producing the People’s Fair we feel comfortable that this is the right path forward for CHUN and the People’s Fair”, according to Roger Armstrong, CHUN Executive Director.
This partnership will be a win for the community, as CHUN will be able to focus full time on improving the Greater Capitol Hill neighborhoods, and the tradition of the People’s Fair will continue for years to come.
The 2017 Capitol Hill People’s Fair will be the 46th edition of Denver’s largest community-based festival, held annually on the first full weekend in June in Denver’s Civic Center Park. The People’s Fair will be held June 3rd & 4th in 2017.
