Why We Love Make-A-Wish Colorado
What’s not to love!? Denver Oyster The Race is proud to have Make-A-Wish® Colorado as our beneficiary. This wonderful organization does not just grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, but also provides hope and happiness for the child, family and community.
We thank our teams and community for raising funds for this special cause, where a child like Princess Keely gets their wish granted and can forget the daily stresses of living with a medical condition.
Princess Keely got to be part of last year’s Oyster The Race and her dream of being a princess came true with a formal princess coronation at The Brown Palace Hotel. Governor Hickenlooper even proclaimed the day as “Princess Keely Day.” What else happens when you’re officially a princess? Formal tea with friends followed by a limo cruise to a VIP viewing of Frozen of course. All of the smiles, joy and hope was made possible by Make-A-Wish® Colorado.
We strive to provide as much support as possible to make a child’s wish come true. We all had the opportunity to dream when we were younger and it’s a fundamental part of growing up. There should be no cause or reason that ever gets in the way of someone’s wish.
Stay tuned for this year’s wish granting. Oyster does provide incentives for teams to raise as much as possible, but the underlying reason to donate is to simply help a child in need.
