Breweries of the Mighty Beer Run
We are especially excited for this year’s Mighty Beer Run coming up Friday, September 18 in RiNo because of the lineup of seriously awesome breweries. If you’re not familiar with the event, it is for those of us who love beer and also tolerate the occasional exercise session – mostly so we can drink more beer. Folks will gather at Ratio Beerworks, check in for the race and enjoy a walk, jog or sprint to the next breweries. Here’s what the runners can look forward to this year.
This year’s starting point, Ratio is a place we don’t mind having to return to for the finish. The first thing you notice about this place is the atmosphere. Ratio’s industrialized indoor space is open to a huge, bustling patio.
The second thing you notice is the beer. With a few permanent fixtures, Ratio shines with a constantly rotating selection that makes every visit feel a little different. For a little kick before the run, try the Novo Hold Steady dark scotch ale with just enough Novo coffee to add some pep to your step.
Recently opened on June 28, Beryl’s Beer Co. is known for putting a unique spin on traditional recipes and serving up barrel-aged, hand-crafted, small-batch brews. Kick back in their roomy warehouse-style taproom and enjoy the Dampfbier, a seasonal Wald with subtle smokey flavor.
Founded in 2012, Zephyr describes their beer as pure craft. Enjoy some high quality brews while you enjoy many, many games in their great space. Free foosball, pool, ping pong and darts? Sign me up. We recommend broadening your horizons with the Cranberry Lavender Wit Belgian Wit with kombucha.
Co-founders Eric & Phil are dedicated to reviving the cider tradition. Starting with the highest quality ingredients, their main goal is to honor the purity and complexity that is inherent to the apple. After some walking, jogging or straight up running, a crisp and refreshing cider is your best move. Try the Malice cider – it’s one bad apple.
See you at the Mighty Beer Run, folks!
